Benefits

The benefits of the project will be equally distributed among all involved groups:

The end users will take great advantages, since the consortium will capture their specific know-how and needs.
A new workflow in the production process of complex-shaped objects will avoid expensive optimization loops, with the parallel benefit of a higher aesthetic product quality.
New functionalities for aesthetic design will help the design departments of the industrial partners and of other enterprises to be more efficient with regard to time and quality.
In addition, a new modular system architecture will enable SMEs to get access to Computer Aided Aesthetic Design (CAAD) which up to now has mainly been available for large and powerful companies. SMEs can be more easily integrated into extensive workflows in cooperation with large companies.
The CAD/CAM system vendors will get the potential to increase their market share (especially against their US competitors).
New research areas will be opened for the research institutes and the fundamentals for shape design developed in this project can be the basis for further research and industrial projects.

These benefits will be available by the end of the project...
